Twitter turns eight-years-old today, and the micro-blogging service is celebrating by launching a tool that mines through your endless stream of 140-character-or-less nonsense to dig up your first tweet. (Hey, it beats those narcissistic videos that inundated your Facebook feed a few months back.) The tool is a revelatory look into the inanity of the social media platform. A number of media outlets are commemorating Twitter’s birthday by posting the first tweets of various celebrities. (SPOILER ALERT: None of them are all that fascinating.) So we’d thought we’d bring it home by posting the first tweets of some famous San Antonians. Mayor Julián Castro First up is Mayor Julián Castro, one half of San Antonio’s Wonder Twins. These days he’s squabbling with State Senator Dan Patrick (R-Houston), of the anti-immigration/pro Buc-ee’s Dan Patricks, but back in 2009 he was telling you to read a blog:   Congressman Joaquin Castro Congressman Joaquin Castro recently joined his brother in the Twitter dust-up with Dan Patrick, encouraging everyone to deny themselves access to an overwhelming variety of beef jerky, before quickly retracting. But back in 2011, he was just welcoming people.   Councilman Diego Bernal District 1 Councilman Diego Bernal has been going crazy with Twitter’s photo filters as of late. But when he first joined Twitter he was asking for money. He raised $280 dollars.   State Senator Leticia Van de Putte Today, State Senator Leticia Van de Putte took part in Throwback Thursday, which is a thing. But when she first joined Twitter she was with Texas Democratic Women. We’re assuming she still is.

Tony Parker in French >>>>

Tony Parker Tony Parker has been tweeting in French recently. You’re guess is as good as mine as to what he’s saying. Back in 2009, he was thanking Spurs fans and asking them to like him on Facebook.
thank u spurs fans for coming by today at the open practice thanks for your support!!!merci d etre venu spurs fans... http://bit.ly/9dlhf — Tony Parker (@tonyparker) October 4, 2009
Manu Ginobili Today, Manu Ginobili is conducting a poll about Spurs’ uniforms. In 2009, his first tweet was in Spanish. Something about how he was at home and it was 36 degrees. And, like his teammate, he asked people to like him on Facebook.
Ya estoy en mi casa. 36 grados en SA, tremendo! Ya mañana se comienza a trabajar EN SERIO. Hay que volver a las... http://bit.ly/SUdc8 — Manu Ginobili (@manuginobili) August 26, 2009
Jackie Earle Haley Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach in Watchmen and is currently starring in the Robocop remake, hasn’t tweeted since January. And, as it turns out, he didn’t even tweet his first tweet.
hey everyone. check out jeh's shout out atjackieearlehaley.com cheers tony — jackie earle haley (@jackieearle) April 27, 2009
Andrew Weissman Today, Andrew Weissman was retweeting our own Jessica Elizarraras. But when he first joined Twitter he was trying to hook you up.   Big Bob’s Burger Big Bob’s Burgers was letting the Twitterverse know that Lone Stars are a buck today. But when they joined Twitter way back in 2012, they were letting the world know they joined Twitter.
New twitter account finally set up. Please follow us so we can let you know what bands are playing or any special we are doing. Thanks B — Big Bobs Burgers (@Bigbobsburger) February 4, 2012
Carlton Zeus Hip-hop artist Carlton Zeus has been prepping for the Maverick Music Festival. When he first joined Twitter in 2010, he just wanted you to visit his website.

Piñata Protest Piñata Protest has also been gearing up for their set at this weekend’s Maverick Music Festival. But back in 2008, they were just testing out Twitter and figuring out the caps lock button.
