Eva Ruth Moravec, the county government reporter for the San Antonio Express-News is off to graduate school. After six years on the job, it's understandable that she wants to have a little fun while filing her final story. Fortunately for us, it's all fun and games until someone hits "publish."
Her parting article was published on the Express-News website under this official headline: "Vendor apparently bails on Bexar contract," but the story is accompanied by a less than official URL.
The error caught the attention of Jim Romanesko's media blog. Here's what she told them about her parting gift.
The headline was my worst joke ever, and on my last day at the Express-News. It was changed before the story was published, but the URL was created sometime during the editing process, which I didn’t anticipate. I’ve apologized to the Express-News, an extremely loving newsroom that was my family for six years.
As of this posting, the URL hasn't been changed. Moravec is owning up to the error and taking it in stride.

She shouldn't worry. She's a consummate reporter who hasn't made a shitton of mistakes.
Correction Fri June 27 7:39 a.m.: A previous version of this story misidentified Moravec as the public safety reporter. Her most recent beat was county government.
