Somebody had a fun night.
This would never happen in San Antonio. A number of Spurs players received the full Los Angeles experience following their nail-biting Game 7 loss to the Clippers on Saturday. L.A.'s ever-present paparazzi made sure Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and company made an appearance on TMZ before leaving the city, antagonizing the players as they drunkenly stumbled out of the nightclub.
The throng of camera-carrying celebrity stalkers badger the players as they make their way to their bus, attempting to coax a rise out of the famously cool and collected Spurs. One paparazzo asks Parker about his ex-wife Eva Longoria and disingenuously congratulates Boris Diaw on a good game. The cameramen crowd the lumbering team mates, hoping to catch some embarrassing behavior. And while the inebriated players may not have been at their best, it's the paparazzi and obnoxious, loitering club-goers who embarrassed themselves with their showcase of L.A. inhospitality. Even completely wasted, the Spurs still outclass everyone else.
Meanwhile, it looks like the Spurs turned their night around after their crushing first-round elimination, because the lot of them look like they threw back more than a few and had fun doing so — something they are allowed to do, by the way. They are grown men, after all. Aron Baynes looks like a fun drunk, someone you'd definitely party with. He's all smiles as the always chill Duncan carries him to lets hope was the Spurs' party bus. They all certainly deserve to unwind.
Watch the scene below as the players help each other make way through the crowd and make sure not to leave anyone behind. Hey, at least we know that legendary team unity extends past last call.
