Stray dogs are a citywide problem
that impact some parts of San Antonio more than others. Records obtained by the San Antonio Current
from Animal Care Services show which of the city's zip codes report the most dog attacks. The agency defines "attack" as any physical encounter with a dog, such as a bite or a scratch, either provoked or unprovoked.
Click on each zip code in the map below to see how many dog attacks were reported to ACS between 2010 and 2015 in that area.
The data can also be grouped by City Council district. The visualization below displays the number of attacks between 2010 and 2015 broken up by the city's 10 districts and Bexar County.
