Look how far we've come. Just over a year ago, Lyft and its competitor Uber, dramatically left San Antonio over changes to the City's vehicle-for-hire ordinance.

While they companies operated outside San Antonio city limits — and some say there were loopholes for getting a lift in the Alamo City — they finally reached an agreement for a pilot program and returned to operation.

Now, just a year or more since the drama came to a head, Bexar County announced that it's partnering with Lyft to offer employees $20 credits to use during Fiesta, April 14-24.

“As Fiesta approaches, there are many events where consumption of alcohol will occur along with heavy traffic congestion,” County Judge Nelson Wolff says in a press release. “The Commissioners Court, embracing innovation and new technology, decided to partner with Lyft to offer Bexar County employees a safe transportation alternative during Fiesta.”

The county says in a press release that the cost of the program will not exceed $49,000.
