For the very first CurrentCast — our new weekly podcast — we interviewed San Antonio FC Head Coach Darren Powell, a man who holds San Antonio's soccer future in his hands (but no pressure, right?).

Powell, originally from Nottingham, England, previously directed youth development for the Major League Soccer side Orlando City SC, and is the winningest coach in Elon University history. He joined San Antonio FC in January, before the club even had a name.

Powell spoke with the Current about putting together a team on short notice, what the term "Dorcelona" means for the club's strategy, and the future of soccer in San Antonio. Have a listen below, or download the podcast from the Current's SoundCloud page:

Powell and his players will square off against Swope Park Rangers on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field for the club's home opener. Tickets are available here.

Check this space next Wednesday (and every Wednesday after that) for the next CurrentCast. And stay tuned for the podcast to go up on iTunes and Stitcher.
