Battle of the Stouts and Cigar Pairing: July 8, Big Hops Bitters (226 W. Bitters Rd., Ste. 108), 7:00pm-midnight Big Hops Bitters will be tapping two imperial stouts in a battle of the tastiest. This battle for stout supremacy will feature pints, stout brownies, and a cigar pairing. Food will also be available for the event. The first stout announced is Prairie's Birthday Bomb. If you're a fan of stouts or cigars, this is an event not to be missed.

Learn How to Make Sushi at Freetail: July 8, Freetail Taproom (2000 S. Presa St.), 7:00-9:00pm This two-hour class presented by Birmingham Sushi Class will teach you all the fine points of making great sushi. You'll learn to make perfect sticky rice, make the most popular sauces, how to buy fish, and how to roll perfect sushi that doesn't spill open. Best of all, with your admission, you get a flight of Freetail's best beers.

Branchline Quarterly Open House: July 9, Branchline Brewing Co. (3633 Metro Parkway), 2:00-5:00pm Branchline will be hosting its quarterly open house in July. For $10, visitors can take home a pint glass and get three beer sample tickets. The Hungry Badger and Wicked Dogs food trucks will be on hand dishing up good eats, and Branchline will be tapping a cask of their River Bend Citrus Ale that has been aged with chamomile tea.


Summer Beer Talk Series: July 13, Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery (136 East Grayson, Suite 120), 5:30-7:00pm Southerleigh's Brewmaster, Les Locke, will launch their first ever Summer Beer Talk Series this month. The event will take place on the patio at Southerleigh and will feature an informational session about the restaurant's beer of the month, how it is paired with their food, and a tasting. The talks are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

SA Craft Beer Congress: July 14, La Villita Plaza Juarez, 6:00-9:00pm Centro San Antonio presents the first-eve SA Craft Beer Congress. Presentations from some of the best breweries that call San Antnio home will be on hand to talk shop. The panel will include Freetail Brewing Co., Alamo Beer Co., Blue Star Brewing Co., and Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery. They will talk about the importance of breweries on the local economy, and of course, there will be beer.

5 Stones Brewing Tap Takeover: July 16, Big Hops Bitters (226 W. Bitters Road), 6:00-11:00pm Cibolo's 5 Stones Brewing Company is taking over Big Hops Growler Exchange. The craft beer company specializes in season produce and fruits as well as unique spices to flavor their brand of brews. They'll be unleashing a few special new batches for this event as well as offer up some of their swag for sale.

Antlers Lodge Five-Course Freetail Beer Dinner: July 20, Antlers Lodge, Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa (9800 Hyatt Resort Drive), 6:30-11:30pm Chef Armando Diaz of the Antlers Lodge at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort is teaming with the brewers at Freetail to present a five-course dinner with beer pairings that will feature a wide-range of Texas-centric flavors. On the menu include a Gulf Seafood Terrine, Heirloom Tomatoes, Corned Pork Jowl, Antelope Jerky, and more. And,, of course, their will be Freetail's signature line of craft beers.

Brewed in the 210 Screening: July 22, The Point Park & Eats (24188 Boerne Stage Road), 8:00-10:00pm Director Marco Ortega brings will hold a screening of his documentary which highlights the people and businesses who are helping the craft beer industry in SA thrive. Local brewers tell their stories and talk about their passion for beer.

Oskar BluesBQ at the Flying Saucer: July 23, The Flying Saucer (11255 Huebner Road, #212), 7:00-9:00pm What could be better than a night of live music, craft beer, and good old fashioned Texas barbecue? Virtually nothing, according to the geniuses at The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium. Oskar Blues beer will be tapped for the event. Tickets are $35 and will get you a plate of sweet meats and three beers.

Alamo Beer Summer Music Series: July 24, Viva Tacoland (103 Grayson St.) 9:00pm-midnight Viva Tacoland will host the first of their summer music series, sponsored by the Alamo Beer Co. The event has a $7 cover and includes one free Alamo Beer. Ranch/House and El Campo are scheduled as
the evening's performing acts.

Beer and Dinner Pairing: July 28, Park Plaza Hotel (217 S. River St., Seguin), 6:00-9:00pm The Seguin Brewing Co. is holding a five-beer, fiver-course paring dinner at the luxurious Park Plaza Hotel in downtown Seguin. Fiver of their signature beers will be paired with five dishes prepared by Chef Dan Friley of the Chop House Grille. Seating is limited for this special event.

Real Ale 20 for 20 – 20 years with 20 Taps: July 29, The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar (17619 La Cantera Parkway), 11:00am-2:00pm Celebrating Real Ale Brewing Company's 20 th anniversary, the Brass Tap will have 20 of its taps “taken over” by the craftsmen from Blanco. All day long, some of Real Ale's signature flavors will be on tap, including a selection of some of their limited editions.

A Beer Float Social – Craft Beer & Artisan Batch Ice Cream Pairing: August 8, The Granary 'Cue & Brew (602 Avenue A), 1:00-5:00pm The Down Market and Sundown United team up with The Granary 'Cue & Brew for a one of a kind beer pairing event. Cafe Dijon Pastry Chef Chris Jara and Granary Brew Master Alex Rattray will be creating a unique craft beer and artisan ice cream pairing that will sure to cool down your hot summer day. Beer flights and ice cream are both limited, so get there while the getting is good.
