On Wednesday evening, a woman fired shots into a crowd mourning the death of a San Antonio man under a Highway 281 overpass.

According to police, Margaret Ruiz was upset that she hadn't been invited to the vigil for Luis Arista, who died in a fiery crash near Hildebrand Ave. on 281 early Saturday morning. She arrived shortly after the mourners gathered at 8 p.m. and begin firing bullets into the crowd. No one was hit. Attendees were able to wrestle the gun out of her hands — and then used it to "pistol whip" Ruiz, according to a San Antonio Police Department report.

Ruiz was taken to the hospital and will be charged with Deadly Conduct.
