Houston's Mattress Mack Giving Houseful of Furniture to 30 Families in Need

Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale is the gift that keeps on giving, literally. The Houston businessman is keeping up his 35-year tradition of helping families in need during the holiday season.

No, not with a bin of canned goods or a free turkey, but with enough furniture to fill up their entire house. And after flooding that destroyed homes and residents' belongings following Hurricane Harvey, Mattress Mack's generosity can be expected to be appreciated even more this year.

In a video posted to his Facebook, McIngvale called for nominees for his giveaway, one that gives a houseful of merchandise from his Gallery Furniture. This comes after his literally opened his store's doors to residents displaced by the hurricane and flying out residents (and buying tickets to) the Astros' World Series games.
McIngvale said his giveaway is geared toward those in need, whether affected by Hurricane Harvey, going through financially rough times, had a house fire or simply need a fresh start. If you know a family in need, you can email him at mack@galleryfurniture.com.
