Driver Swerves to Avoid Hitting Dog, Kills Owner Instead

A man was struck by a car after a driver swerved to avoid hitting a dog that ran into the street in South Bexar County, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Authorities said that a man was walking the dog near FM 1937 and Bluewing Road around 8 p.m. on Monday. The dog ran into the street as the vehicle approached, prompting the driver to swerve. The driver hit the pedestrian instead.



According to the report, the dog owner was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies told the Express-News that the driver pulled over and remained at the scene.
