The Alamo and River Walk are on so many magazines' lists of travel bucket lists, we're bored every time we see 'em pop up again.

Maybe that's what convinced Time to delve a little deeper into our city's landmarks when compiling its inaugural World's 100 Greatest Places feature.

S.A.'s Inspiration Island water park was one of just two Texas sites to slip in alongside crazy-cool locations like Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg's sonically stellar new concert hall, and Morocco's Al-Qarawiyyin, the world's oldest library.

Year-old Inspiration Island, located inside the super-accessible Morgan's Wonderland theme park, earned accolades for empowering kids with disabilities. Among its innovations are waterproof wheelchairs powered by compressed air and water areas with different temperatures for visitors who can't handle cold.

Time focused on sites that are "breaking new ground, leading industry trends and offering visitors an extraordinary experience." Using those criteria, Inspiration Island sure fits the bill. Plus, it's not the... yawn... River Walk.
