Uvalde native Matthew McConaughey recently teamed up with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to help fight sex trafficking in the Lone Star State.

McConaughey used his A-list star status to make Texans focus on sex trafficking, which has claimed more than 300,000 victims in Texas alone.

In a PSA that has been shared on Paxton's Facebook page, the state's AG said that about 79,000 of those victims are children.

“Texans, men, women, boys and girls are forced into a horrifying form of modern day slavery every day,” McConaughey said in the PSA.
The ad, which is part of Paxton's bid for re-election, shares ways to identify trafficking and encourages reporting it as part of the “Be the one” campaign. For children, warning signs usually include school attendance, appearance and demeanor, materialistic items and unexplained injuries. Meanwhile, adults are isolated from their loved ones and community.
