The MAGA hat snatch heard 'round the world has resulted in an indictment for the alleged attacker.
reveal that a grand jury indicted Kino Jimenez on a charge of theft of a person
, a state jail felony. Jimenez, 30, is accused of grabbing a teen's "Make America Great Again" hat and throwing a drink in his face while dining at a North Side Whataburger in July.
Video of the encounter quickly went viral, even reaching Mr. MAGA himself. Tweets revealed that President Trump signed one of his infamous red hats and sent it to the Hunter Richard, the 16-year-old who was visiting from Orlando.
Authorities weren't able to track down Jimenez
until a few days after the attack, at which time he was arrested. Following his arrest, Jimenez was reportedly fired from his part-time job
The San Antonio man is currently out on bond
but has a trial date set for October 19. His charges make him eligible for a minimum of six months or maximum
of two years in a state prison. If found guilty, he would be eligible for probation or deferred adjudication.
