San Antonio is one of the best cities in the U.S.

We're not being biased here. In a recent report from Conde Nast Traveler, the Alamo City was named the sixth best city in the country. And perhaps even more impressive, San Antonio was the only Texas city to make the list.

Here's how San Antonio earned the distinction. Conde Nast surveyed nearly half a million people and divided results by a city's population size. San Antonio was up against cities with a population of more than a million residents. The Countdown City was beaten out by only Chicago, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco and Honolulu.

That means San Antonio beat out major metro areas like Los Angeles and, of course, our Texas neighbors to the north and east. As far as other big cities that made the list, San Antonio ranked higher than popular cities like Seattle (8), Boston (10) and Denver (12).

From those surveyed, tourist attractions like the River Walk, Historic Pearl and the Alamo led to San Antonio scoring so high. Of course, the report was sure to mention Fiesta because even we love talking about it every chance we get.
