It’s suddenly creeping back up on us. First, it’s Thanksgiving break. Then, it’s that never ending holiday break where you are at home, unable to escape your family that’s coming into town – your laundry and dishes that can never seem to stay clean – and your kids who are wanting to play video games, and never seem to stop eating. If you’re a parent, you feel this deep within your bones. Well, we’ve got a cool solution that is starting up very soon. It’ll give you two hours of free time a week. Yes, TWO HOURS! You can drop your kids off, and escape the holiday madness. Wanna know what it is yet?
It’s called Code Ninjas and it’s a new and exciting way to help your children become masters of their craft, coding craft that is. They are one of a kind, in that they offer a cumulative coding curriculum. The idea is that code ninjas are taught by code senseis in a dojo. What a cool concept! It’s also based on a belt system, yeah, like karate. Come by Code Ninjas Shavano Park’s Grand Opening to tour the center with your family on December 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and learn more about all the services they have to offer from day camps, drop in services to parents night out. Yes, they even do that!
So, if you have kids between the ages of 7-14 and, like me, you’ve been struggling to find the perfect mix of fun, inspiring, and creative STEM and computer activities, then Code Ninjas is your answer.
Coding has been referred to as the “literacy of the 21st century” and their senseis are here to help. Kids will learn to code by engaging through a game based curriculum that teaches team work, math, logic, and problem solving, plus you get a couple of quiet hours a week. I’d call that a win-win!
