DIRECTOR OF ADVERTISING SALES
Leadership opportunity within a growing media group!

The San Antonio Current is seeking a Director of Advertising Sales. The experienced candidate will be tasked to oversee and build a successful sales team from the ground floor. As a vital member of our organization’s leadership, the Director of Advertising Sales will concept and create sales strategies, product roll-out, vertical revenue budgets, and train and oversee a team of advertising account executives.

A successful Director of Advertising Sales will oversee cross-platform advertising strategies for San Antonio Current clients across multiple categories and media. The candidate has superior communication and leadership skills, a passion for working with small to medium sized businesses, and strong working relationships with local businesses and organizations.

Responsibilities
• Drive revenue
• Create and develop product roll outs, sales collateral and any supporting materials
• Work with management and sales team to ensure advertiser success • Hire, mentor and train team of account executives
• Exceed advertising budgets
• Track client's success with existing integrated campaigns and collaborate with team members on strategies to grow and retain business year over year
• Accompany sales reps in the field for 4-legged sales calls and prospecting
• Research and analyze prospects, current clients, competitors and vendors
• Identify sales growth opportunities, analyzing market conditions, and working with management team to develop and implement innovative action plans and opportunities
• Oversee vendors fulfilling advertising product and services commitments, including evaluation, negotiation and contract execution and termination
• Develop effective infrastructure to facilitate campaign management, including ordering, billing, project management, production and fulfillment, optimization, reporting and ongoing client engagement

Qualifications
• Proven ability to exceed sales goals
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and opportunities including but not limited to SEO/SEM, Social Media, Email Marketing, Google Analytics, Paid Search, Display and Video
• Minimum 5 to 7+ years of sales marketing experience
• Proven ability to effectively and efficiently tell marketing stories
• Intense time management and able to multi-task effectively
• Creative problem solver that can quickly pinpoint client needs
• Familiar with the San Antonio Current and our products

ADVERTISING SALES COORDINATOR

The San Antonio Current is searching for a highly organized candidate to join our team as Advertising Sales Coordinator. Our advertising coordinator will execute the planning and fulfillment of various marketing campaigns while delivering reports and superior customer service to our clients.

A successful Advertising Sales Coordinator will meet deadlines, achieve campaign deliverables, communicate regularly with team members and clients, and offer educated reporting to our clients. The Coordinator will develop a deep expertise in the San Antonio Current’s products, policies and processes and be capable of both efficient and accurate digital campaign execution as well as identifying opportunities to improve client performance, satisfaction and retention.

Core Responsibilities
• Managing fulfillment of a high volume of advertising contracts simultaneously, including scheduling and executing deliverables (to include digital and print advertising, email marketing, social media and more)
• Analyzing customer requirements and communicating project development to internal team
• Working with both internal and external resources to ensure the timely delivery of projects
• Providing reports and status updates based on business rules for partners and their clients. This output provides crucial data points about the deliverables of each campaign and becomes the benchmark we use for our performance.
• Consulting with clients on campaign creative strategy using historical and industry data
• Troubleshooting any issues that may arise during a campaign
• Supporting the Ad Operations Manager with digital ad ordering and trafficking, as needed

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Digital advertising experience
2+ years in ad operations or account management
• A curiosity and passion for local business and San Antonio culture
• Familiarity with the San Antonio Current and our products/events
• Experience managing and/or coordinating projects in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of employees with different skill sets
• Working knowledge of digital production, design, digital ad tags, and/or creative specs
• Exercise excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Work successfully both independently and in a team

MARKETING INTERNS
The Marketing Intern will work with the Marketing + Event Department to develop and implement unique marketing campaigns, events, and overall promotion of the San Antonio Current and its clients. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the advertising and event marketing professions with a focus on on-site activations.

EDITORIAL INTERNS
The San Antonio Current is looking for an editorial intern to join our editorial team to assist with blogging, digital content and social media. As an intern at Current there's no getting coffee, filing or making copies.

Our interns spend their time doing meaningful work: researching, writing and most impertinently, pitching content ideas. You will be expected to churn out relevant, witty, breaking San Antonio news and commentary on a regular basis, as well as pitch and produce web content. This position is oriented toward local news and arts coverage, with the opportunity to develop a specialty if desired. 

When it comes to qualifications, a journalism background and experience writing for a news site always helps, as do copy-editing and multimedia skills.Students must have a strong grasp on pitching ideas regularly as interns are expected to contribute their own thoughts and ideas.

Applicants who are enrolled in school and are able to receive academic credit are preferred. This is an unpaid internship; however, we offer flexible schedules. Interns may start immediately.

PRODUCTION INTERN
San Antonio Current is looking for motivated and creative graphic design interns to join our production team. This is the perfect place for new designers to learn, develop their portfolio, network with industry professionals, and develop new skills that they will carry with them throughout their career. Passionate voices are welcomed and essential here. You must demonstrate strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills. We accept applications year-round, but our positions fill quickly. This is an unpaid internship.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe software, especially Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator
