NOLA native August Alsina has been on the rise since releasing his debut single “I Luv This Shit” with rap star Trinidad James in 2014. That same year, Alsina was named “Best New Artist” at the BET Music Awards. The R&B vocalist’s second album, This Thing Called Life, which features collaborations with Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Jadakiss and Anthony Hamilton, debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200.
