As part of its Cinema Tuesdays series, Texas Public Radio screens Martin Scorsese’s 1988 adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis’ landmark novel that imagines an alternate fate for Jesus Christ. A 15-year labor of love, the epic drama was filmed entirely in Morocco and features memorable performances by Willem Dafoe (Jesus), Barbara Hershey (Mary Magdalene), Harvey Keitel (Judas) and David Bowie (Pontius Pilate).
