This swinging mid-century San Antonio home only had one owner until someone bought it this spring

If you turned on the television in this two-story house that recently went up for sale in San Antonio's Jefferson neighborhood, it might not be a surprise to see an episode of “Rawhide” or “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.”

Even with state-of-the-art appliances and updated bathrooms, the $535,000 property is a step back in time to 1959, the year it was built. Wall treatments — from wood parquet to stone outcroppings in the living room — and a stylish-yet-trippy pattern behind the bar carry the theme.

Part of the reason may come down this home only having a single owner from 1959 until this spring. The new investors-slash-owners made a few upgrades, which stuck to the mid-century motif.

Those changes included removing a wall, some new lighting and customizing countertops to match the terrazzo tile original to the home. The retro wallpaper behind the bar was selected by the remodel's designer.
